Aside from measuring the stock pieces off of my 79 924 and cross-referencing them or having them custom made, does anyone have a source for larger intake and exhaust valves? EuroRace wants to sell me a whole head (not a bad price, but I've got a severe budget limit and an already ported head with no valves) Everywhere else is rife with old, NLA stock numbers.
Through some wheeling/dealing I scored an Integral cam kit, a mildly ported head, MSDS header and some other bits and pieces for cheap. Earlier, I bought a sidedraft intake and I'm going to use the TWM sidedraft throttle bodies I bought for another project on the car. Coupled with EDIS and MS-II, I ought to have a little more power than stock at least until that Audi V-8 of my dreams falls into my lap. I figure that all of this stuff won't do much good without a little more valve area (and compression but that's a different subject at this point)
So what say the collective group?
Thanks,
Stefan |

Give paeco (google for a number) a ring, they may be able to come up with some valves. _________________ 1980 931S

In fact any good machine shop should be able to source you something...
Just take along or get the measurements for a stock valve, borrow one if you have too and they will do the rest using their databases....

DON'T use Paeco. They are having serious delivery problems these days. Any decent automotive machine shop should be able to get you what you need. According to my contacts at Holbrook, about 90% of all aftermarket valves blanks in the country come from a single source anyway, so it's just a matter of knowing what specs the blanks need to be machined to. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

| Cool, good to know. I just didn't want to pay that "German-Brand" mark-up that so many places seem to charge whenever you use the "P" word. Much like the "F" word in the italian car world, though if you use the other "F" word (not that one, though it might help) then things get a little cheaper. |
