| Hello everyone! I am from Cyprus and i have accidentally found a 924 of 1979 for sale for 2.500 CYP (about 2.200 English Pounds). It has its MOT passed until 2008 and when i started the engine it sounded great. The interior needs some work to be done. I will take it to a mechanic to check it out to see if it is worth it. Can you guys tell whet what to look for ? I mean...common problems that it may have like a bad clutch disk or something ? Problems that these cars usually have. Thank you! Great forum and i hope i will be soon a part of your community. |

wash the car with a heavy stream of water and leave someone inside the car to look for leaks, esp around where the battery sits. _________________ 3 928s, |

Are cars expensive on Cyprus, Jim?
£2200 would be quite a high price, even in England.
I'd work on getting the price down for a start.
Generally these cars are pretty reliable. The only common faults being leaks (as Lizard states), and a few fuel and electrical gremlins that can be readily sorted with a bit of patience. Synchromesh on second gear can be a bit iffy, but people learn to live with that.
Good luck. _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)
