Folks: The heater core decided to start leaking over the weekend while I was teaching my grandson to drive a clutch. As I'll be taking the car off the road in the Fall to begin its restoration/modification, I'd like to avoid replacing the core (and ripping out the dash and console) now and just plug the heater hoses (I'll replace the core when I dismantle the interior for restoration).

Has anyone done this? What should I look for (i.e. which hose to cut and block as it's in a really crammed space).

There is a pig tail hose coming from the rear and then through the fire wall and another return from the fire wall to a join under the coil to control valve.
You can disconnect theses two and put a hose from rear of engine to the join.

(one of my hoses blew while 200 miles from any sort of mechanic)
