Interesting idea here - inline 6 cylinder Vortec 4200 Atlas LL8 engine.
The idea for a guy like me would be this:
First, it's 275 hp, so no need to charge it.
Second, it's an inline 6, so it's not extra wide, meaning early cars might be able to keep the drum brakes
Third, it's a workhorse reliable engine.
Fourth, as a straight 6, it might squeeze in - or could it? With the CIS removed, this engine could have some room.
Hypothetically speaking...I have no intention of starting a build like this. _________________ 1980 924 turbo, MSD, Meth. Inj, otherwise stock.

What does engine width have to do with drum brakes? Or did you mean your brake booster? Still questionable...the toofah engine is canted over, as you know, and it's hard to tell from the pic what needs to go on the LHS rear of that engine, which would obviously interfere in the booster area.

Doubtful. Even if there was front-to-back room for the radiator, the oil pan is in the wrong configuration, I don't think it would clear the front cross member. It needs to be the other way around. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Agh. Yeah that makes sense. Yes I meant the brake booster.
I wonder if it's the same way with most inline 6's? _________________ 1980 924 turbo, MSD, Meth. Inj, otherwise stock. |
