As for the hood, renegade hybrids sells one for a 944 which I use. It fits the 924 too.

Tell them turbobob sent you!

Hey,

I definately won't give up. Have you had any transmission issues?

As for the renegade hood, I've seen it before. Do you have one? I think that I might have clearance issues with even that. Also, the $800 price tag puts me off a little bit. I think fabricating a cowl on my stock hood would be a bit cheaper.

Yes I have had my share of blown up transmissions.

And you could probally modify your stock hood by grafting in a cowl induction piece.

So is the transmission failure a result of the vibrations from the v6?

oh, and how is the handling with your car?

All the BS you hear about V-6 vibrations does not related to the new generations of V-6. They are plenty smooth. In my case I had and older chevy 3.8. It did run rough but more becasue I put a high lift cam in it.I did not blow up the transmissions until I switched to the turbo buick V6 making over 400ft lbs of torque.

A sit realtes to your engine being so high. I would look at whether the PO lowered the front sway bar and what kind of oil pan it has. The pan should be a rear sump one and should not have any clearance isses with the cross member. It should be about a 1" above it.

My car handles very well though I am putting in 28MM Tbar isn the back to reduce the squating and stiffen it up.

Why the motor from a jimmy and not a Z34? The truck motor is built for torque while the car motor is build for useable power. And dont worry if you think this swap is too redneck looking, you are putting a GM motor in a Porsche. That screams F-body-kissin' yer ma-mullet wearin'- gun rack totin' REDNECK

Hm mm how high does it sit above the hood line ... cause I was just thinking maybe a cowl induction reversed scoop.. like the older Chevy muscle cars had like a camaro or chevelle had.

Hey guys,

Havent gotten to work on it much lately...We are trying to get hold of a mini starter at a reasonable price.

Anyway,

TurboBob, If you haven't recognized the car already, it's Andrew George's old car, from Ohio. I saw somewhere that you guys were goods friends on the Pors-chev forum. Anyway, Andrew did the renegade conversion, it has a custom oil pan, and the front sway bar is lowered with whatever the kit provides. So you think my '95 vortec engine will be alright? Thats good to hear.

As for the hood cowl, Joe, I think your right, the reverse induction cowl will look good. They have one on renegade for 944's, which Turbobob mentioned.. Ill get a pic

And 20v924...Well, this is 'Merica I guess, and ain't Nobody the boss uh me! I like it

Yeah, I think it looks cool. I dunno if I wanna fork out $800 bucks for it. Anyone know what an origional hood goes for now? Maybe I could sell my old hood before so the cost wouldnt be as bad.

How old are you man? I was kind of under the impression that you were in your late twenties at least. Just my thought reading your posts. That makes me kind of curious on how many other people are on this board that are my age, not even legal to drink in the states. ex. 18
