Do you have pics of the car and does it have any distiguishing body stripes or other features that might help identifiy it?

My best guess would be that it is a Weissach(spelling) Edition. Just going off of the avatar pic and the fact that it is an '81.

man, i got all jazzed up thinking someone else out there actually had a real "Special Edition' like i do.. not that the other option packages arent cool, but mine is the only one thats litterally called "special edition" and so far its the only one i know of, but there have been rumors of a few others (but n/a models. ) it would be cool to find another to compare notes with..
anyhow,
i havent seen a signature package like that before,is it only the seats and interior cloth (which i like ) , or does it have other upgrades as well like 5 bolt wheels or unique decals or other more unique things you dont see on "normal" 924s?

according to the so called order form i still have it is a 924'sonder modell'which means that it is a special edition, but what it doesn't say is what kind of special edition it is, unfortunatly.

Man this one has me stumped.

The only thing special I can see is the steering wheel, seats, 924 Turbo spoiler and spats. But that is enough for Porsche to label it an SE of some kind.

It's nice looking car by the way.

Actually that steering wheel was offerd as optional equipment as early as 1979, maybe earlier.

Well, my guess is that it is a trully special edition, meaning a special customer order, straight from the factory. You need to find out who the original owner was.

Hmm, I actually know who the first owner is, some german, according to the orginal order form which I have (in october 1981) it is a sondermodell which means special edition, but it doesn't say what kind of special edition.

Your car is special model. It was 81 or 82 model for some anniversary (sorry I dont remember how to wright that) It was Ferry Porsche cellebration or something. It has different carpets, signed seats and some extras (steering wheel, rims, special paint)
