I need some advice. I thought I had a problem with a noisy left rear CV, but it was strange because it only made a noise after a corner and the car was pointing straight again.

My car has the 5-speed dog-leg shift tranny, no lsd.

So the shaft and CV's came out and look fine, but the left rear short shaft that goes into the diff has about 3-5 mm forward play on the left but not on the right.

Is this the/a problem and what is the fix??

I have read a comment by Raceboy that there is a weak spline set up that holds a sattelite gear shaft in place but does not know if this is similar?

Thanks
