1980 N/A was my first car. Purchased in 1997 with engine out of the car in pieces on a board next to it. Took me a while to get it running but its been my daily driver since.

About a year ago I picked up a 1980 931 with a dead snailshell. Replaced snailshell and now trying to replace turbo. I have no plans to sell either one. I love these cars. Can't wait to get the 931 running again.

I was just havin' a chuckle at your BMW joke, I didn't mean I bought a 540...

If you were asking about the toofah, well, the model/year is in my sig., '81 Turbo. The colour is Meteor Metallic as far as I know. And there are pics all over the 'board of it!

I saw a 924 for the first time on my way to my first job interview when I was sixteen. I bought my 924S 1 year later after finally saving up and finding the one I liked. I'll have owned it 2 years this July, I could only think about selling her for a 951 or a Boxster, everything else seems so bland after driving a Porsche.

I still have my 87 924S my friend gave it to me for $200 and it's also my first car, and i can't drive it either, I'm only 13, I got it in 2005, it didn't run when I got it, it was only the fuel pump and the fuel pump relay, I put new rims on it also the y cost me $300 I also put a Cherry bomb in it, and I put a sub box in it. I'm hoping I'll keep it all my life. oh and is there another way of putting pics except for photobucket?

You can try Flickr for photo hosting; I use it an find it an excellent, easy and (cheap) way of remotely storing and linking my photos.

I bought my 924S about 2 years ago. Bought it the day after I met my girlfriend, and the first time that I actually drove it was when we went out for our second date on Valentine's Day. I guess that gives it some sentimental value, and its a blast to drive and work on so I'm hoping to keep it for a while

I bought mine in 1983, still have it...currently converted to full race car, has 944 brakes, close ratio G31 snail with LSD, rod end-linkage, chrome -moly rollcage. 30 mm torsion bars, fronts short Bilsteins.
Dry sumped engine, big valves N/A head, Tilton flywheel, 7 1/4 twin disk, hydraulic axial bearing setup by Taylor.
Right now car is stuck, I had back surgery last October, car is not going anywhere...
Ricardo

update: just sold the whole project, most of the collected parts gone to a pair of good friends, also 924 / 944 lovers. Will be finished up as a GT-3/ Track car...so, that would be some 27 years of ownership, same car.

924 NA............... I bought it new in 1977. Still have it although it is now a totally different car in performance and looks.

Euro 931 ............maybe 10 years

I kept the NA because after a while I liked having it around and it was paid for and I did not need the money.

Show car is my 911 Targa I bought new in 1987 and I still have it. I took European dilivery on this car and picked it up at the factory.
