You see, my S' motor trashed before that paroxysm called Christmas and I've yet to find a replacement. No, that's not quite correct. There's a 944 local motor (I mentioned this to DWAK) available but while I know the bolts and nuts will fit, I'm unsure of the bits and ends.

You see, I was told by a Pelican guy that not just any 944 motor will fit in an S.

Brother S men, I need your help. The 924 guys are great, wonderful in fact but they don't understand S

Hmmm... perhaps there might be slight differences, but I think they'd bolt in... Porsche didn't change that much, not if they didn't have to. However, words of caution, I haven't messed with the engine of a 924S or 944... only suspension stuff...

Identical except for engine mapping, the S is detuned as not to woop ass on the 944 which is big and fat and slow.

Email me and I'll hook you up with a guy who knows all the details as he has done the swaps.

Posted this on the other section, but wanted to make sure you saw it.
I can get you a 924S motor with 53K miles on it for very reasonable amount.

If you still can't find one we could work out a deal. I have an 87 motor out of a 924s with 101000 miles on it. It ran really strong but needs front seals behind the timing cover. It has new belts, pulleys and a new water pump on it. The only problem would be shipping costs. I could let the motor go for $800 min to help off set the cost of shipping. I'm in Enfield CT if you wanted to double check shipping. I believe it's going to be somewhere around $400 - $500.

Shipping with Forward Air will be around 350, please check. You have to crate and deliver to dock as well as pick up.
I.E.
from Tulsa to NYC was 200 bucks for a 600lb 912 engine and parts

This motor isn't that heavy and I have no problem bringing it to the dock. Do they charge more on weight than size? Do you remember if you had to do anything special to the motor because of the fluids in it?

if fluids leaking is a problem,a few old pillow cases with kitty liter in them will absorb any leaks and keep the kitty litter from making a mess and getting into the motor

no oil leaks or spillage.

No fuel period.

Must be on a solid skid/pallet with a bottom so nothing falls out and must be built to be stacked. It won't cost too much as you can ususally get free pallets by looking around, and check you discount lumber store for 2X4 and plywood.

Build a strong enough box and you might be able to reuse it. SO screw the lid on versus nailing.

They charge by size and wieght so make the only as big you need.

There is some kinda of size to wieght ratio where it really doens;t matter though so you might call your local hub adn find out.

Short block 924S is in good condition. He is removing the head this week. So if you are interested in the short block for $450 let me know. Again it only has 53K miles on it and should be perfect.
