Haven't noticed any posts about this one, has anyone noticed the striking similarities in shape between the 924 "Shooting Brake" (in the models/history section on the .org) and Audi's new toy?

Round the 924 version's edges off and there's a lot of likeness there... _________________ Mars Red '78 Euro 924 n/a

Hadn't seen that similarity before, but now you mention it there is something there.
I thought that the new audi actually looks too similar to a BMW 1-series.

There's a guy here at work who leaves all the newspaper motoring pull-out's on my desk for me, I usually only glance through but when one had the Audi in the pictures hit me straight away as I'd been mooching through the 924 model history the day before... _________________ Mars Red '78 Euro 924 n/a

Oh no!!
Look at the front..just yuk.
Look at the wing mirrors, my dad's Massey Ferguson tractor has mirrors with more style.
Look at the cab, it's a weird stuck on sort of shape.
What about the inside? Looks like it was designed by a 'boy ricer' complete with cheap Argos alloy bezels. (ok, at least it has a good view of the tach & speedo).
BUT no. And the steering wheel is on the wrong side. _________________ 1983 - 924 (185K miles) - not mint

mmmmm... i dunno. the similarities i'm seein' are pretty much limited to:
1) it looks german-designed
2) tail end is a kind of hatchy-wagon crossbreed
3) it has wheels
and here i was hoping it was going to look more like that slightly modified/updated shooting-brake that was up on ebay not too long ago. shame on you for getting my hopes up _________________ '81 US 931 "Rochelle" |

They're calling it the new TT in all the magazines down here.
It's kinda boring compared to the last TT, though. _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

it looks really ugly in my opinion. It kind of reminds me of the chrysler PT crusier / Suzuki areo. _________________ 78 924 sold.

It's the same everywhere. Car companies seem to be competing with each other to produce the ugliest car ever. Slab sided, slitty windows, bland fronts, rear end like one of Salvador Dali's nightmares...
At least the Audi has that distinctive and very agressive deep radiator to distinguish it. Apart from that, the 924 still has no competition in the looks department! _________________ 1985 Porsche 924 'Lux', Kalahari Beige (my ex)

row 924 looks much better than the north american version.
the only thing I don't like about the 924s look are the wheels they are very ugly in my opinion and look like something that belongs on a rusty rabbit. the spiderwebs look better, I'll buy a set if I can fix everything else on my car first....
oh and for car design I don't really like any of the new car designs except porsche, ferrari and lamborghini still make some very nice cars..... _________________ 78 924 sold.
