well I went down to Oaxaca or 150 km south of there to repair/teach the guys how to use a diamond drill that the company I work for made.

upon returning home I had a meeting and told them of the issues encountered and other things that went on,

well the short story is that I have been hired to go to mexico I already have a FM3 which gives me unlimited enteries and exits out of mexico
I will be leaving for that work sometime this following week,

the next location where we will be drilling is in Vera Cruz mexico 3 miles from the gulf of mexico and we will be living in a hotel there, tough life I know.

the job is 12 hour days 6 or 7 days a week so I wont get alot of time to enjoy it but I will get a few. but hey close to $6k every 2 weeks (if not abit more) I am not complaining.

I had the skin on my legs sand blasted off in a wind storm in VeraCruz.Nasty weather that was.Hurricane season there sucks. Not really jealous though, not a big fan of Mexico, seven months there was enough for me.Cuba is WAY nicer, cleaner and safer.Didn't feel the need to bolt everything down if it was out of my sight for 5 minutes.Have fun though and don't forget the Hep A/B shots before you go!

Hey Lizard

Hope you are having a good time down there. Sure beats the constant downpour of the Vancouver winter. I agree with Kenodog, Cuba is WAY nicer. If you get a chance, do check it out. The only sad thing is that you are not able to enjoy your 928.

Cheers

D

I third the Cuba suggestion, worth a visit from Mexico if you get a chance. I spent 2 weeks there for a developmental camp when they had the Pan Am games, great experience.

I can sympathize, but put me down as jealous... I've got a similar deal, long travel, 12 hr days for 7 days a week, weeks on end (just got back a week ago from a 4-week trip, leaving Monday for a 1-2 night trip to OH, then off to Phoenix the 13th-24th). But you're lucky, it's nice and warm and presumably not remote. Where I go all winter is so remote, town population is about 800, and it's very cold (we were bar-hopping one night where it was about -50F with windchill)...

And it sucks not being able ot play with your cars in the meantime, but at least you'll be able to afford anything you need for them!

I actually dont mind the long days, I feel mre productive if I do it that way, plus making that sorta cash will allow for alot more play time later in life.

I do plan on taking a trip over to australia on a reak, as well as germany, and possibly other places further south.

I once worked 4 hours on-8 off. Then 4 hours on- 4 off then back to 4 on-8 off for several months. It was called watchkeeping. Started all hours of days and nights, body clock went to shit and didn't get paid extra either.
That's typical hours for the military.

Making up for it now.
