Did you look at the links above, a 944 is slower than a 931. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

The newer car usually wins that decision. _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

The really telling one is that the 931 is up to 3 seconds quicker than 924S or 944 to 100mph! Wow! _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

Yep but that's the ROW Series 1, not a series 2! _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

The second one has several pages of great info (note the green arrows at the bottom). _________________ White 87 924S "Ghost"

I don't know which one is quicker but the 924S has a way better engine, its not rough and noisy like the 924 engine and I would think the 2.5 l porsche engine has better torque than the 2l audi turbo but I don't know the specs.
931 parts are also going to be harder to find and with a turbo you'd have to worry about the turbocharger components failing. 924S is much more modern. _________________ 78 924 sold.

Tim, you're DEAD wrong what concerns the 2.5NA torque characteristics vs 931 2.0 engine. 944 S is slower than 931, so is S2. Proven fact, raced them all for testing purposes
edit: S2 acceleration data on that Russian Club site is wrong. S2 0-100kph is 7.1s and 968 is 6.8s. _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

maybe the euro 931 vs the euro 944?
what about the north american 931 vs 944? still I bet for a 931 in daily driving you'd have to rev the shit out of the engine to be faster than a 944.
I though the north american 931s were around 140 hp. euro is like 170 something hp big difference.
edit: I read those links all the info isn't correct for example it says that the US 78 924 has 115 hp but that's false it has 110 hp.
it also says that the 83-86 944 has 150 hp and it says that the 924S has 150 hp..... I thought the 924S had less hp than the 944.
87 944 goes up to only 158 hp?
I don't really care what car is faster anyways, faster doesn't make it better. _________________ 78 924 sold.
