For those of you trying to access the USA version of the PET for the 924S, the URL has a typographical error which returns an "Object not found!" message (error 404). The problem is that the URL uses a lowercase "s" following 924 ("924s"). I changed the lowercase "s" to an uppercase "S" and was able to access the PET. The working URL is:

https://techinfo.porsche.com/techinfo/pdf/en/catalogues/E_924S_88_KATALOG.pdf

I sent this information to the Webmaster for that site. Hopefully they will update it.

Anyone know what "PET" stands for?
Google translate says that "electronic parts catalogue" translates to "Katalog der elektronischen Teile", so my guess is the P is "Porsche", E is "elektronischen", T is "Teile", or in English - "Porsche Electronic Parts"..
Close?

Porsche Electronischer Teilekatalog.

We will be upgrading the site within the coming weeks, so you can enter a Porsche partnumber and see the current European retail price.

Cheers,

Brian

924S manual seems to have gone AWOL from the Porsche site (Object Not Found). I found a copy here in case anyone is looking for it:

WOW!!!

Thank you Ron!

I've spent a lot of hours trying to piece together PET info from the 924 & 944 for my 924S.

I even sent a note to the webmaster about the error message - over a WEEK AGO - and never heard a word from them.

You've truly made my life easier.

Mark

Mark - I'm glad my earlier post regarding the proper US PET URL saved you some time. I've sent this information to their webmaster several times during the past year and have never gotten a response or seen any action taken to fix it. I assume one of the following:

1) They can't read english.
2) They don't care.
3) They can't believe they made a mistake so they ignore my notes.
4) All of the above.

What's interesting is that the Porsche classic site still seems to operate as if these catalogs should be there...check it out:
http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessoriesandservices/classic/genuineparts/originalpartscatalogue/

But when you try to download, it produces a 404. My guess is that they had some sort of web content update or migration and somebody screwed up the PDF assets...

In any event, you can still get the PDFs from Pelican here:
http://www.pelicanparts.com/PartsLookup/Parts_Lookup_Main_Page.htm
