All the people I know treat it as a real Porsche.

However, I have been snubbed by the Porsche clubs I have written to and not even received a reply to emails.
They can go jump.

ive seen more 924s in wisconsin than other porsches. driving down the highway from ripon to madison, ive seen people turn their heads to look at a 924 passing them. hell, my friends dad had a 911, it was a good looking car, but he couldnt get the thing running! at least with our cars, we can turn the key, and for most of us, know that the engine will turn over.

so i say screw the other people who think that because the 924 is a poor man's porsche, it isnt a porsche. my friends who say, "oh, you own a 924, i thought it was a real porsche," i think are just jealous. one of my friends who said that drives a 91 subaru legacy.

Opinion of the 924 here in Britain is divided into two main categories.

1) Any Porsche is a fast, flash, expensive and luxurious sportscar (goes down well with the ladies )

2) It's a pile of junk which doesn't even deserve road space because it's not a 'real' Porsche.

There are, thankfully, a few of us that recognise it's true worth.

The ones who doesn't know the car, but see the badge, think it looks great and it will go fast.

The ones who are levelheaded see that it's a good looking car.

Then we have the jealous people and the snobs who calls it a Audi or a VW or a poor mans's Porsche. (And given the cost of repairs at times, I might agree that's what some of the owners end up as.)

Agree with Ozzie.

Down here, anyone who's not "in the know" thinks a Porsche is a Porsche. Mine has the crest on the front and the script on the back and that's good enough for most.

On the other hand, people who know give me endless grief about it being an Audi or a VW, etc... anything but a Porsche.

Not that I mind, I find it quite amusing, in fact

Most people I know (even my mates who just love stickin' the knife in ) all comment on how good looking it is and beg me to let them drive it

And I just love the reaction I get when I tell people I own a Porsche. A Turbo, no less!

I was quite surprised recently. I had to do a photo shoot with lots of other Porsches and the only ones that snubbed me were the 944 drivers!! Those in the 928, 911's and a GT3 were very interested in the car. This was the opposite of what I expected!

whenever I had taken my 924 to any of the porsche meets it always got alot of attention, as did JL924t's 931,
they liked the 924 lined appreciated its history and liked it overall, esp when some of the done up 911s couldnt loose me in the corners.

A bloke at work has a 944, or "a real one" as he calls it, but he said it with a smile and I'm sure was only teasing.

most people don't really know anything about them or they just heard something from someone, like that they are money pits.

someone at my school a few weeks ago came up to me when I was getting in my car and he was like is that a 944 and I said no its a 924 and he told me one of his friends used to have one and that they cost so much money to maintain.

most peole think its fast because its says porsche and want to race me. I've had 5 l mustangs, camaros etc try and race me its funny, also ricers with their huge body kits and giant wings look at it too and cut me off, they probably think "I just smoked a porsche in my cool honda"

and also when I go the gas station and say fill it up with regular I've had lots of people ask me are you sure? I thought all porsches run on supreme.

most people like how the car looks, everyone who sees my car tells me its nice even though my car is purple and has a spray painted roof
