Just wondering if anyone has removed any emissions/smog equipment. Any pros/cons to doing so? My state doesn't have any emissions check so I don't have to worry about passing emissions.
Thanks, _________________ Rob

I don't think it'll really give you much of a performance boost, unless your motor is tuned a little better than stock. PO removed the exhaust side of mine, but left the vacuum stuff and valve intact, so I pulled those.
Simplifies vacuum routing under the hood, and saves a couple ounces of weight.
You'll need to make a blockoff plate for the intake manifold, I used a piece of 10 gauge aluminum and sealed it with some intake gasket material.
As for the exhaust side, I think the previous owner just removed the pipe and plugged it. _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |
