Actually, it's the first of fourteen 924s for me...and has been used as a daily driver since I did the top end rebuild. It's survived me, two boys (both through ages 16-20 driving), and now is dutifully providing daily transportation for my dad (whose van conked out earlier this year). It's been extremely reliable, and looks great too.

Here's SONIC halfway through a 4,000 mile round trip from Plymouth MI through Big Bend National Park in TX, back up through New Mexico and home again. Notice the big beautiful 944 spoiler (notice the complete lack of cheesy I'm-so-cool-because-I-have-Porsche-on-the-side-of-my-car stickers).

Here's SONIC earlier this summer just after his five lug swap. No more four lug for me, especially cheesy fake 3 piece Audi wheels.

Can't touch this? Ppphhhhht! I'll stack SONIC up against any 30+ year old car any day for reliability and handling.

oh dear looks very tatty in the latter photo there
did you drive it against a wall or something? and
though you have gained the 5 stud you have gone
for less attrative wheels there. Your north american
spec has equiped your model with the ugly side
repeaters and bulky dogem car bumpers. You want
to go euro spec like me and that murky shade of
blue is never going to be BLACK! chessey is your wrap
around go faster stripes? Let me show you how it could
look with some 100 hours of work

It's a daily driver for my kids, of course it has some dings At least I can drive mine for 4000 miles without worries. You'd be in the ocean by that time on your sorry little island. If yours would even make it that far.

Oh, and I do know a little about the results of hard work.

Hahahaha, This is Great, keeps getting better!

Anyways , back to the wing, I installed one earlier this year and love the looks of it. Took about 2 hours altogether to remove the old one and to install the one. Had to drill out two bolts, heads snapped off. Other then that, it was a easy job.

Differences between the two wings:

Naked:

My one and only complaint about the 944 wing is that my window struts aren't strong enough to hold it open without help.

hi regarding the dude in his tidy white 924s. The 944 rear spoiler looks
great looks like it was always there. How did u fix spoiler on your tailgate -
oh yeah just go buy some new struts dude!

I bought my 924 1984 euro model last november so nearly
had it a year. I didnt really need to restore it - just a bit tatty and
general faults poor modifying. (exhaust) I bought it because it
was an original black car.
The bodywork was really good, but paint faded and heavy weathering,
i had to polish it with sandpaper. but really nice straight body.
It was the bad quality of repairs and the very worn interior that really required work.
door handels coming off in your hand and such like.

the front valence was bashed up and the badge panal spot welded
had a nasty old dent in it, (you cant see it in the pics). I drilled it out
and did a bolt on conversion instead.

I got these front seats from a 944 s2 they are electric, but they have
manual adjustment as well so im not going to bother wiring them up.
There mint and i pad just $700 for front and rear. Ive seen these go
for almost twice that amount

I borrwed ideola 's hairdryer to remove my rather worn porsche lettering
from the rear. Tnen able to polish up the paint beneath looks a lot cleaner.

Check out the custum exhaust system the previous owner must have had
a skilled mechanic. Silencers cut out and joined back together! No idea
where the back box came from, but they did away with original
hangers too, resulting in a system banging on the body so close it melted the rear bumper!
And as for the sound of it.. absolute shit! the test drive was embarassing!
you were afried to put your foot down. People looked like they were
calling the police. This was the 1s thing i removed from the car.

At the front - the lower valence looked pretty beat up

I found a nice straight turbo valence instead to help cool my brakes
in white took no time to hammerite black Sweet!

I dont know how many spot welds there were in total, Id say around
40!!! I marked all the points with correction fluid tip ex. fine drill then
larger one to break the points. this is an 84 model, later ones are all
bolt on badge panals. I used a late 944 badge panal to replace mine.
Lucky already in black.

Since doing the work ive been on a few track days but nothing really there
to rival me, fortunatly engine was in very good shape and pulls strongly.

I could have told porsche it wouldnt work!

Mostly just stock stuff to be honest
