Taking a 79 motor and installing it into a 80 931 chassis, with wiring harness still installed. Will the wiring line up, or would I be best installing a 79 or earlier harness for the n/a motor? I have a new harness here for 76-78, Would I simplify things going this route or set it up on the 80 electrics? Any thoughts or ideas greatly appreciated, Thanks

the wires for the WUR, AAV, cold start valve are all the same and there for the 931, you will need to ground the wire for the fuel pump relay, unless you are running a turbo engine and the charge tube remains, you will also be able to remove the lambda system entirely for the NA engine, other than that there will be no issues.

You'll need to run new wiring for the alternator and starter or just use the one from the 79 and remove the 931 alternator and starter wiring (easy).
