yes, you will like the added power and greater handling.
Make sure you have the timing chain checked, power steering leaks, tranny, AC. Have a compression and leak down test done. check for power steering leaks and the rack.
Other than that enjoy it.

Run a Carfax, odometer problems are very normal on these cars.

Here's some more info, looks like I was off on the mileage

Entire drivetrain intact with good running engine at about 120K miles, with new belts and rollers. New brake rotors on all four corners, new oil pan gasket. Tranny shifts well, non-LSD. Set of new 100 mm rear wheels studs on car and will be included (allows use of late offset wheels). Straight, intact sunroof unibody with doors, door glass, rear quarter glass and stock hatch. Has stock manual steering rack intact. Interior is partially gutted (no hatch area trim or seats), has cookie cutter rims with worn tires. Title is available from the friendly prior owner.

Comes with a replacement windshield that needs intallation. Needs front driver's fender and hood. Needs the flexible brake lines replaced.

It's about 5 hours away, any clue what transpo might run??
In all honesty I was thinking of stripping it down for upgrades on my 924, since it looks like my tranny might be shot. While at it I could also upgrade the suspension, brakes & sale the rest of it off.

I'd offer him the $850 but only if he delivered it to my driveway with a good title.

Otherwise rent a tow dolly and borrow a truck and pull it home.

Yes, I would tow it myself. But, I don't want a 944, unless it's a '88 turbo S, or an '89 Turbo.

Uhaul Auto transport for 24 hours is only $52.00 and some change.

If you want extra time with the rental, schedule to pick it up after 6:30 Sat. evening. They are not open at 6:30 on Sun. so you get to keep it until Monday morning.

I usually do this and pick the car up on Sunday. That way you can leave as early as you want and have the whole day to do it.

Ask me if I've done this a few times.

sounds like a good deal to me...trany swap is fairly easy compared to most cars, unless theres some bad axle bolts, the rest seems like a groundball to first...or you could probably make most of your cash back just selling the engine alone, if you decide to part it...( i think i paid almost $1500 when i bought a replacement engine for the old 87 924s a few years back, so the "wholesale" price has to be at least $700 or better for a good running 2.5) worht the effort if youve got the space and time for it...

Just my luck, the guy never answered my emails & I saw today that the ad had been removed.
Oh well.
Between my 924 & ex wife, the last thing I needed was another hole to throw money into!
