Hello,

Can someone tell me what differences there are in the rear suspension of a 924 Carrera GT compared to a 924 Turbo II? I heard the trailing arms were alloy. Are they the same as the early 944 ones?

Thanks,

the trailing arms are similar to the turbo with the exception of strengthening plates around the bearing housing and shock mounts.

These basically consist of short bits of angle welded to the arm to stiffen up the areas - pretty basic and not that pretty but easy to copy.

The alloy arms came with the 944 turbo's

Thanks, John. Sounds like it shouldn't be too hard to add some strengthening to the standard 924 Turbo's items then. All I need is a bunch of photos of real GT arms to copy off!

Here's one pic from the garage section here...

I'll try and dig up more. I too am thinking of doing something like this for my 933's. They had modified rear trailing arms too.

Now if you really want to do some modifications, here is the D-Production rear trailing arm...

Good pictures. Thanks for posting them.

I'll have to check the rules and see what modifications are allowed.

I've just realised where I got the idea that the trailing arms were alloy. Apparently the GTS had alloy ones.

Can anyone confirm this? Are they any different to the 944 ones that no doubt were based on them?
