hello
My headlights will only go up but wil not go down. I already have checked the relay, and the pins are not worn. I noticed that the body of the car interfering with the headlight motion and that is why i suspect a failure with the diodes. i removed the rubber boot but i don't have a multimeter with a diode check function. The diodes looks fine but there was one thing that is strange. There is one black cable from the female pins witch is attached with soldering with the diode ( a black one) and this diode is attached with a second soldering to a black / yellow cable, the headlights go down when i put a cable between this second soldering and the earth, does this mean that the black diode is broken? I have a january 1977 924.
thanks in advance, Christiaan |

if you take the rubber boot of the top of the headlight motor there is a dial. Keep winding this clockwise(i think) and your headlights will raise manually. when they get to the top of their cycle they will automatically close. If they are not getting through this cycle then yes you have wiring or diode issues.
On the other hand when you talk about body interferance, there are stoppers on the armatures behind the headlights that set the maximum hight for lift, make sure these are not impeding the total raising hight first.
I am not sure about the diodes
