Dear members.
I have another thriving group that is in the process of building home
built aircraft for up to 2 people.
If you guy's can build Porsches you can build an airplane.
I am a disabled veteran and I am.
I set up this group for like minded people such as myself.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sportplane
they use everything from 2 strokes to vw to subaru to honda to
motocycle engines to model A and lastly the corvair flat 6 engine.
The planes are built of either the following materials :
wood, aluminum, 4130 tubing, composite and dope and fabric.
The flight instruments an avionics should be a breeze for you guys to
scrounge up and install.
all you need is a valid drivers license and 20 hours instruction to get the new light sportplane license.
the airplanes that qualify have to be fixed gear, no more than 2 seater, not flown at night , weigh in fully loaded with people at less than 1250 lbs and stall speed of less than 45mph.
If you have plans I have 10 plans and engine and conversion manuals for $100 usd on cdrom

Well first off - NIFTY! I've always thought that home made aircraft are cool, but I barely have the guts to drive in a car I changed the brake pads on. I think you can multiply that by 1000 when I'm actually flying in the thing.
Second off, I'd like to refer any aviation folks to:

Being the green energy, electric car weilding, tree hugging, etc. etc. I am, I thought it was only right to link you boys up to an electric/fuel cell powered plane!

Well I don't actually have pilots license, but I'm an aviation welder and have done work for many an ultra-light owner, and the Maines Experemental Aircraft Society. That work was on a WW2 Corsair replica. My last custom job was for a Polar Expedition by helicopter, sponsored by the National Geographic Society. _________________ I have a 78 n\a currently under restoration. |
