take a look at http://www.autospeed.com/A_0163/page1.html for a good read about what real difference various mods will make to a SOHC 2litre 4cylinder.
There are dyno graphs for each of the major changes.
They ended up with 100kW (say 135hp) at the wheels (anything between 160hp and 175hp and the flywheel depending on drivetrain losses).
Most of the mods would be applicable to a NA 924. |

It's more like 40-60hp, not 250. Check out http://www.musiccityrodshop.com/nosimp.htm
It's saying that imports can't really get crap unless you can somehow know how to hook one of those up. Even then if you read the F.A.Q. it says that 250 is for the V8's. The 250 would blow our engines. That and the suff doesn't last long, is expensive, and is $560 some odd dollars for 40-60hp. Just a little info for guys.

Actually I did the calculations last year. I used a sample size of N=50 mods, for N=20 participants, and found the average cost was a little under $100 for every ATRW horsepower that you want added to the Porsche 924. So nitrous is still within that range.

I will find a way to get lots of HP from my 924S (I dream ALOT!). I still want to put a 944 turbo engine in my 924S. But agian its just a dream. Anyway just hit the NOS when you come out of the corner 60HP will do some good. I saw a NOS kit in Porsche Panorama that is 80HP. SO lets see a stock 924S with lets say 155HP add a 80HP NOS kit. Thats 235 HP. It will beat the piss out of any other stock 924/944. Or you can take a mod 924S like mine with about 190HP

the guy with the chevy 8 and NOS will beat you still....you can't win, the only way to win is to go against someone that has a wheel chair sign on there engine compartment reaeding "no NOS" or "no Turbo". |

I dont think the V8 would beat a tricked 944 turbo engine in a 924S

I've got an air-fuel ratio meter sitting on a shelf. never got around to installing it. Maybe I will put it in one of these weekends and make some runs to see what happens at top end. Keep in mind that you do get extra enrichment from the throttle switch at full throttle and at high revs.

for off the line performance, the 931 (or a corvette engine) is a better way to go since it has less lag and more pep than a 951 engine/.
Don't know what your after though.
Think about it, how many 0-60s do you do around town? not many, u do 0-40s max.
