Is there anyone who cam explain how my brake disc (4-lug) broke. It has broken as though the pads held the disc while the hub carried on turning. The break is clean and it was during town driving. The brakes have not been skimmed and haven't been blued from heat. There are no cracks in the disc and they were replaced in Oct 2000.
One of the mounting lugs on the caliper has also broken. |

Who put these on?
I have heard of this failure before, but it was on a Ford. The rotors were at fault. I suggest you return it to the manufacturer. you should get your money back!

Thanks Eric, I took the rotor to a friend and he said the casting is crap - it looks as though it has bubbles in it, so I will take it up with the supplier. |
