Any one with knowledge of fuel pumps for the CIS cars please post to the string. I'm looking into Bosch coding across the Porsche line as well as other makes like VW and Volvo.
After a discussion with a friend, we are under the impression with the exception of inlet and outlet location and electrical location, all CIS pumps are the same and are only diffferent in the bypass volume control built into the relief valve. The pump operating pressure is the same for non-turbo to turbo.
Also with the exception of the external housing and the factory crimp, a Bosch fuel pump is servicable. I had a new 911 unit that had already locked up, so we cracked it open and cleaned the pump innards and it worked like a charm. Unfortuanely the housing sustained stretch damage from attempting to release the crimp. I'm looking into a new housing with service access.
I'm also interested in aftermarket brands.

Hey, check out my writeup of the Pierburg fuel pumps in the FAQ... cheaper, universally adaptable to all 924/931's, better soundproofing, better durability, etc... I've been very happy with them...
