Does anyone recomend a radar/laser detector??? I am looking into getting a new one. My other one is to old but it saved my ass alot except for the time when the copper used that instant on/off laser. Thats a killer and there is no way to protect angenst it. BY the time your detector goes off he has your speed. What about rammers do they work?? What do you guys think??

I don't know what's good but I do know I need one badly. Trouble is they're illegal in Ontario, so you need a tiny one to hide.

The best detector is the Valentine One.
There are a few things you can do to eliminate the effective range of the laser.
Put a difuser plate on the front licence plate... if you have one. Get a laser jammer, but I have read reports that these work the best if the cop happens to point in the location that the jammer is in. Lastly you can get real bright driving lights and put covers on them. These specific covers only block the white light and not the infa red that the laser works on. This also cuts down on the effective range. So you could get the Valentine one ($400 with laser protection) Put the cover on your plate.. about $15. Then get the lights and covers... not sure maybe another $100? I think the laser jammer is $200-$300 For a total cost outlay of around $820.... or just slow down and do some auto cross for $20 an event. Track events at the Porsche Club are around $100 for a weekend.
