undersized main bearings?
BTW, can I use the one from other Porsches?
Thanks!
I have tried a lot of places, including the nice folks at PAECO (Carl told me he tried a few suppliers and the bearings are in their "back order" a.k.a. no one has them). |

I have not verified this , but the vw 2.0l main bearings might fit ,they cost about $30 . maybe you could find the specs and compare or gamble and buy a set and see . the rod bearings from the vw 1.9l turbo diesel are the same diameter ,but I dont know if thet are a swap for sure ,cost around $20 . the bearings from a 77-79 amc concorde are a direct swap ,I forget the cost .
also several members have had failures after a rebuild, a few vw/audi guys say to replace the rod bolts when doing the bottom end ,because they are notorious for failing . |
