Spent my saterday out in the drive doin body work .. tires were rubbin last week I had to cut the lip of the fenders. i cut the lip off where it turns inwards along the top so today I smoothed it out with some thing called Easy Sand by evercoat its a polyester blending putty in a tube you just mix in the hardener. Someone has the digi cam so I have no pics. Ill take them sunday as Ill be doin some panal smoothing in trouble areas Ive spotted. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

Looks good Joe. Looking forward to seeing it painted.
Don't you hate having to hang that front license plate on the bumper. I'm glad MI got rid of that law.
Had I known you were needing to roll your fenders I could have sent you my roller. Probably would have been easier than cuttin'. It attatches to the hub and rolls the lip using a delrin roller.
Oh well, hope you sort everything out soon and get that car one color again. _________________ MJ

yea maybe next time, Im block sanden it a bit now too
as I had some stripes on it before ther yellow was put on and they
were showin up..anyway spent the weekend on it nand heres some pics.
think Im gonna 2 tone it white on top and yellow on the bottem then put some pearl in the clear. Pearls fun you can a little or alot itll turn this yellow into gold and the white into silver if you use enough..
Cut the top lip of the fender off then ground it smooth I then used the
Easy Sand by evercoat its a polyester blending putty in a tube you just add hardener. It sands really easy I like that perfect for block sanden just gotta make sure you take it off only leaven the filled hole dent crater
dip what ever you wanna call it.

How did you attach the valance to the fenders?? I used to be able to see the lip where they came together...did you just fill it with putty? _________________ 1976 924

No you kidding (not strong enough)
before it was removable held togehter with locknuts now
though its screwed together and unremovable.. I used a piece of nylon mesh tape over the joint in there resin then the filler its been time tested.
with the cut fenders allof my turning radias is back.. nice and tight i canturn around on my street with out curb rash or just plain hitting the curb. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

Lets see first off theres alot of blocksanden to do plus trim out the front wheel well a bit right at the line where the valance attaches on both
sides it bulges. Contemplating picking up another hood which is more
likely than haven the hood walnut shell media blasted one of the 2 have to happen or do all the sanden its mostly the hood that needs it Im gonna have the top white with pearl and the bottem yellow woth out the pearl
Ill also clear it all maybe (though douteful) add some pinstripe and add
a little pearl in the yellow. I was thinken of adding enough pearl to have the yellow turn gold. Just like a glass of beer. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

Well Joe, I have a 931 hood that you can have for fifty bucks, but you have to come back to denver to get it. They cost a fortune to ship. It is in pretty good shape, it just needs a little bodywork on the dings and low spots.
How agout them Bronco's? _________________ 1980 924 Turbo |
