I picked up a set of 924T springs which are supposed to be M471 springs. I don't doubt it as the fellow is I got them from is reliable. I've read through all the notes on the M471 package and the M030 package, and I understood that the springs are both supposed to be ~160ftlb. I'd like to uprate my 924S with these springs, as they were available from the factory. My car currently has the ~130ftlb My question/problem is that the part number on them is different than any data I can find.
The 924S/944 M030 springs are part number 477 411 105 G
The stock 924S/944 Springs are part number 477 411 105 Q (they have 2697 after the anchor)
The one I have are part number 477 411 105 M (they have 2911 after the anchor)
They measure to the same length (+-1/4"), and have the same thicken wire as my stock springs. The springs have four green dots/stripes on them. Anybody got a 924T/924 Technical Specifications Manual who could look these up?
Is the number after the anchor the spring rate in NMs? |

4 green stripes indicate 477.411.105M and "Force at L1 = 246mm" of "more than 2840 N". They're the stiffest of the .105M springs.
"2911" falls in the range of "more than 2840N", so it makes sense that the number after the anchor is the spring rate.
-But for the .105Q springs with the number "2697" - that doesn't fall into any range shown...
1 blue stripe is 2727 - 2800 N
2 blue stripes is 2800- 2873 N
3 blue stripes is 2873- 2946 N _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

Great response. I could find a 931 Tech Reference Manual anywhere. This was the answer I was hoping for.
