|
|
I have a guy offering me locally the 944 turbo front end with the side fender panels for 500 dollars. Does that sound like a good deal, or should I haggle with him further.
PS Will the fenders and front end bolt right in??
Thanks |

you need more parts than just that to make it a bolt on deal.
The center nose and headlight covers are needed. The front aluminum bumper/nose support, and the there are the lights in the bumper cover.
I don't know all the specifics, I would try to learn more about it before buying anything. _________________ Bob Dodd - 924turbo@cox.net

The headlamp covers are different? How so? And I've heard but I can't tell, how is the center nose different?
Thanks.

On the 91 aka 944 turbo the nose is more rounded, so you need a different headlight cover and nose panel _________________ Bob Dodd - 924turbo@cox.net

But is the new roundedness obvious? Can I use the old nose with a turbo front bumper?
I'm really curious coz I've got a 924 with a 2-vent nose panel that Performance Product sells and my friend's 951 has the exact same panel. Both look the same to me.... Unless Performance has one for each?

I wish these places that sell after market body panels would give dimentions or at least have clear pictures. www.gt-racing.com has a good selection... but no dimentions and lousy distorted pictures. uggghhh! |

I'm just going by the part numbers and what I've been told. The fit is off but i don't know how much.
you might want to take your panel and lay it on top of the existing 924 panel and see how it looks.
From what I understand the 2 vent nose is supposed to be for the 951 only and is actually a negative to the 951 intercooling ability. The design of the factory nose does the work, the 2 vent panel is counter productive. But hey looks over reason usually rule.
Alot of 951 guys want the 924 turbo nose, which doesn't fit. I suppose if you had a 951 you could change the baffles to the intercooler and have it work. _________________ Bob Dodd - 924turbo@cox.net

I thought Performance Products says it helped the intercooler some and dropped lap times by a sec? Hehe... Or is that more marketing hype?
Anyway, I haven't had a close look, but the 951 intercooler hides behind the panel, right? Then how in the world does it get air to cool the charge?
