Where can I find a kit for sale... Or does anyone know of a car with one in it already for sale? Wouldn't mind looking into a few details on this.

Renegade Hybrids in las Vegas has Chevy V-8 kit for the 944. Can be adapted to the 924.

www.renegadehybrids.com

I have a kit from them. Ask for Mike and tell them Bob from Chicago sent you!

Main thing is you need the larger diameter torque tube like the 944. The 924s and 924 turbo has them.

Check out my website at www.turbo924.com

There are some tips and more information there!

turbobob9242 , what are you planning to do with the brake master cylinder and vacuum booster . it looks like there's no room left ,to install it . I'am planning on putting a different motor in my 924, but if I cant figure out what to do with the vacuum booster,I'll have to go with the audi 5 cylinder,or VW ,VR6 motor . I'm thinking about using the ford 4.6L all aluminum motor(should weight about the same as the 924 motor) from a lincoln and corvette transaxle that chevy introduced in 2001 , mounts in the same place as the 924's trans , using a torque tube .

checked out renegades site, says you need to downgrade to mechanical brakes to remove the vacuum booster, I dont think I've ever seen those . I guess that makes the decission for me , audi 2.3L ,20 valve, 5 cylinder @ 150 HP or VW 2.8L 32valve V6 @ 201 HP

Well, I was running a chevy v-6 for 2 years. No problems with a 7" vacume booster.

In my quest for more power and too little cooling, I blew up the motor.

Now I have a Turbo Buick GN motor in there.

Not totally finished but looks good so far.

For now I have setup for manual brakes just so I can have some fun. I will be fitting a hydrobooster. Much more room. All the Mustangs with the bigger V-8's come stock with one of these!

I think going with the 944 renegade hybrids kit is a waist of money $2500 for a kit that does not bolt to your stock trans plus engine that makes pretty decent horse power plus 951 trans with torque tube plus car plus 20 other things you will need to modify. It would be good if you could find the 924 kit renegade used to sell, but I've never heard of anyone that has one. I think you be better off buying a 944 turbo I've seen some as low as $6500 in very good shape.

Since they do not sell the kit I have anymore, I don't mind sharing all the secrets/ specs.

I have talked to a couple other guys and maybe we will put together something to sell.

I probally will psot all the kit pictures on my website and let people copy/ use them for free if interested!
