i've got a 931 head and i was wondering if i would just be better off putting that head on instead of porting my na head. i've got 9.3 pistons and my block has been milled either .005 or .010. how much compression would i lose and how much of it could i get back from milling the turbo head a little. also, would i be better off sticking with my ported stock manifold and audi 5000 tb or does the stock turbo manifold and tb flow that much better.

If you use the 931 head , you'll have to modify your exhaust and you can't use the NA intake manifold on the turbo head they are not the same. I would stay with the N/A, I just finished a rebuild with 11:5:1 pistons bored .040 over, balanced and I have had the NA head ported and a stage II cam.. I also have a turbo head with the big valves that I was going to use but decided not to.

I would think it would be a good idea to have it balenced with all those mods wonder what your redline is at, wouldnt you gain a couple of thousand rpms with a motor like that.
