I am picking up my Msd 6AL today, and I am going to get the Dist and wires from MSD as well. I am sure Lars can help with the plugs but for long life you get Bosch Plat. For performance you want silvers, I like the Bosch Silber plugs and the generally run around 5.99 a plug here in San Antonio, Tx.

What kind of distributor are you getting from MSD that fits the 924?

I will post the part number when I go to pick it up tonight. They are magnetic and plug directly into the MSD 6 series. Which I got for $214.00 new for the 6AL with soft touch rev control(which I will like since I seem to like to hit rev limiters). On another note, has anyone ever driven a ford focus, this car is a true piece. Just for fun I looked under the hood on my moms, and I laughed for an hour. It makes the 924 compartment look soo clean in comparison. And I think the TB is off a briggs lawnmower.

quote: (i believe it, i have looked into this stuff)
"Question:
Aren't platinum spark plugs the best?

Answer:
No. As a matter of fact, platinum is one of the worst conductors. The reason
why platinum spark plugs are used is for longevity only. Platinum spark
plugs can last up to 100,000 miles. If you are looking for longevity,
platinum is for you. If you are looking for performance, choose silver. "

my add ons: if u are to cheap to by silver, the next best is copper. Not
just copper core plugs.....FULL copper electrode AND copper core...check
that out, don't fall for the "copper core" plugs with crappy conducting
electrodes made of crappy metal.
Crap.

lars.

I found this on rennlist, So now Lars does not have to answer!

Yes ... I heard that the inclusion of platinum is that the plugs are to last a long time .. I guess ngks are good I have 2 sets of those ..but am currently runnen the bosches gapped out to .049.

With MSD ignitions you should use normal plugs.

Copper ones...

Silver ones are good, but with MSD you dont need them, and MSD has too powerful of a spark to make use of the silvers...and i think it also melts them and burns them.

Platinum has no gain in performance unless you have a mercury or something that has a really weak spark. Example the oil points ignition, and say a VW beetle...platinums will help.

Sorry Joe,

The MSD ended up being for a VW,
So I had to buy a new Dist from Porsche.. Ouch... But the cars runs and is sweet!

Just got the insurance today for 26 USD per month, from State Farm... How cool is that.
