Has anyone thought about making a mold for a dash and then having a composite place make it out of fiberglass for you? AppleBit think about the weight savings here! I figure you can get some stryofoam from a craft store to make a basic mold. Any ideas? I have this friend who owns a composite shop that makes parts for airplanes, I might be able to get him to make a small run for us.

I am talking about the whole dashboard, not a cover. New gauge placements and a whole new look. Also door cards can be made in the same way.
