I have been starring at my car for the past few days and I finnaly figured out why it looks weird. The wheels are the spider web type and don't go well with the silver paint, IMHO. My 924 had the four bolt version but was platinum metallic and they look better on it. What Porsche wheels fit the 5 bolt 931 without sticking out beyond the fender?
944 Cookie Cutters - 15X7
944 Phone Dials - 15x7 ( I know the 924S dials will work but are the 944s different )
911 Fuchs - 15x7
928 Trash Can Lids - 16x? _________________ '82 931

We really ought to add this information to the FAQ.
I've never tried fitting anything larger than 7" in front, but supposedly a 7.5" wheel will fit.
Otherwise, stick with 7" wheels with 52.3mm offset for the front. 6" Fuchs will fit but they must be 36mm offset.
For the rear, 7" wheels with 52.3mm offset are fine, as are 8" wheels with 52.3mm offset.
7" 928 wheels will fit, but they are higher offset (65mm) and should be spaced out. I use a 7mm spacer for my 928 phonedials (16x7). The 928's 8" wheels are 52.3mm offset, and require no spacers in back.
If you're shopping for wheels from a particular car, look for '87+ 944's, 924Ss, 5-bolt 924/931, 968, and 928. '90+ 911 and Boxster wheels will fit as well, depending on width and offset.
I run 16x7 928 Phonedials (65mm) on the '80 924, spaced 7mm front and rear, with 205/55-16. They never rub.
On the 931, I use 928S4 Flat-dish, 16x7 front (65mm) spaced 7mm (and they could use another 7mm of spacing, since they occasionally rub with the wider tires), and 16x8 rear (52.3mm) with no spacer, with 225/50-16 front and 245/45-16 rear. _________________ Jon Furst |

i really like the fuchs. simply because of the black centers. my car is silver and i think the black would look really good on my car. it is unfortunate that the only size that will fit is the 16x6. but my current size is 15x6 so it would still be an improvement. my second choice would be the phone dials.
are the offsets for the 16x6 fuchs the 36mm? what year 911 are they from? _________________ '82 931

Early trash lids fit with no problem. Mine are 6 in lids and I put them on without spacers and have no problem.
I temp. put on my new Boxster 6 and 7 in wheels to see how they look and they look fine. Took them off when I bought 7 and 8 fuchs. _________________ "Never let them see you sweat"

7.5 X 17 C2 front wheels fit all four corners of a 924S without any changes.
Should fit a 931 too. |
