Any chance of posting the original post and then putting the latest just under the original so that we know these are the latest. I find that scrolling down to read the latest post a problem
thanks
Vince. |

Vince,
don't you think that would be a bit confusing?
If the latest post was refering to something said in another post in the thread (not the post which starts the thread) it wouldn't be obvious what was being talked about.
Putting the latest post in a thread at the bottom seems to be standard with all the boards I've seen. |

Hi Peter,
Just a small complaint or glitch or something I'm doing wrong. When I'm first on site and see all the folders saying new mail, I'll open one and when I'm finished I'll return to the index to open another but at this point they all say no new messages. Why?

yeah, I get the same thing sometimes.
I'll have to look at the program code to be sure but I think what is happening is;
when you open the first page the software asks your browser for a cookie with the date and time on it that it sent to it last time you were here. The software then knows when you were last on the board and changes the colour of the icons accordingly.
The software then sends your browser the same cookie with the current date and time at the server on it.
Somewhere in the process the software is asking for that cookie again and getting back the one it just sent so it thinks that the last time you visited was a few seconds ago.
I'll put it on the todo list. |
