Can anyone please give me accurate factory front spring rates for both the 924 and 944? Or, perhaps show me where to look?

I've been trying to choose the correct strut inserts for my coilovers on my '74 VW Super Beetle. The coilovers were made using the housings from a 944 (same as a 924?). When trying to research this, I've found both 110# and 140# for the 924 and 126# and 160# for the 944. My coilovers use 125# springs. Getting inserts valved for springs as close to mine would be optimal, but I need the correct value.

I found the 140 and 160 values on an article posted on this forum. If 140 and 160 are the correct rates for the 924 and 944 respectively, then inserts meant for the 924 would be my better choice, but if 110 and 126 are correct, respectively, then The 924 inserts would be a bit underdamped.

Any consideration would be appreciated. BTW, my coilovers would work for you 924 guys as well.
Kindest regards

160 I think, but 140 or 160 it's to little make any difference.... Its soft and slightly softer.

Well, all things are relative. The 125lbs/in springs I'm using are nearly double the factory spring rate of a Super Beetle (68lbs/in). I'm simply trying to match the dampers to my springs. Since I used 944 housings for my coilovers, either 924 or 944 inserts will fit. I'm thinking 924 inserts are the way to go, but I'd love a definitive answer to the spring rate question.

When looking up dampers for both cars, there are 2 different part numbers. I ASSume the difference is due to different valving since I've had both struts in hand and the housings are physically identical. Only reason to have different valving is to match different springs.

Anyway, thanks for the response
Kindest regards
