So just tried the car now with lights on.
They completely die when I crank it.

My understanding is they will flicker, but won’t go completely out if the battery has charge.
I will try to boost it tomorrow. See what happens.

When you crank it cuts all power to everything except the coil. It's done in the key switch.

I did try jumping it. Maybe I didn’t wait long enough or gas the host to charge.
I will try again tomorrow before I pull the battery and check it again.
I checked the battery prior to all this work and had it tested and was all good.
Still finding it hard to believe it died that fast, it was 2 weeks maybe with the negative off.

check/clean the grounds and power cables. You can try putting jumper cables between the starter and battery to diagnose poor connections.

Update....
So starter was corroded. Cleaned the connection and the car started right up. Took the car off the lift to continue bleeding the coolant, where I left off and no start. WTF.
So back to same thing, rapid clicking, so something else is up. As I was cranking I saw a small spark on the first crank from the distributor. So I looked at the leads and they look like they have been chewed. Classic rodent move.[see image]
so I pushed them around and look like they need to be replaced. But I pulled out the braided ground and it is not attached to anything. [see image]

Can someone direct me to that location? Thank you in advance.

LOL! Well there's your problem right there!

There should be a ground strap from one of the intake studs to the body at the firewall, and obviously from the battery to the body. Presumably the one you have is the former, that won't let it start real well if it's disconnected...

Will there be an obvious 13mm bolt that it attaches to?
Can anyone post a pic on where there's is?

Thanks

Duh, sorry - the firewall grounding is the same as used for mounting the ignition coil.

The ground is hooked up. The ground was connected to the firewall and is now connected to the intake stud.
When maneuvering the ground wire a 4mm vacuum hose basically broke like a twig it was so old and brittle. Thankfully that IS something I can run to AutoZone for.

Replaced 4mm vacuum line and voila, she is alive!

Still going to replace the ignition wires because of the rodent nibbles.

That was all yesterday.

Today I completed the coolant bleeding now that it starts. Then proceeded to change the valve cover gaskets.
Took her out for an actual drive. Wow just wow, glorious. A few boxes checked now and its running, a few hundred more!!!!

Now to shore up the additional oil leaks.
