Uugh... Race Cars....

Clutch failure at Sydney Motorsport park turned out to be stripped TT spline. Upon closer inspection I found 3 of 4 bolts attaching the TT to the bell housing missing and the threads compromised....
I have the motor which came in my car in the shed untouched save from removing my car. I had proposed to remove the bell housing of this motor and use it. Closer inspection however revealed all 4 threads in the bell housing to be compromised....
My proposal is now to convert to studs with through bolts. Wish me luck!

Brass button clutch.
Not that I recommend but the p/n and supplier can be seen in the pic if you are interested.

Is that why the splines have gone worn due to an incorrect match

Hi Karlio
Spline on clutch match the input shaft just fine, or atleast they did... The failure is due to the TT to bell housing bolts falling out as the threads in the bell housing gave way.

I don't recommend the button clutch to the high wear rate and difficulty in low speed driving with no perceivable performance advantage.

Whats the benefit of using a clutch plate with no springs?
I think the cracks are because of that. And spline..likely that clutch spline profile isnt exactly matching.
