Guys
Tearing down for mainly mechanical restoration.
Want to build a rolling car for the chassis as I have for my 71 911.
Easy to tear down suspension, engine, trans etc.
Has anyone built one ?
Or what are the best pickup points and dimensions ?
Can’t find any good info on dimensions to key points on bottom body
Structure
Thanks for assistance

I always build these to bolt on to the suspension mounting points of the chassis. That’s rock solid and allows safely moving and securing the body on a trailer. _________________ ---

Kondzi, thanks for comments ..
Got any photos…if understanding correctly and mounting to the suspension mounts then how do you rebuild suspension if used as mounts for dolly ?
Thanks

For bodyworks to get to the bottom of the car (including suspension mounts) is best to use rotisserie.
I use the cart to move the car around when no access to the suspension mounts is needed. I should have some photos of what I used for my 911. Will post these when I find them. _________________ ---

Thanks for comments…..I already have 2 carts presently on my 70 & 71 911’s
I thought someone may have built one for their 924 ..
I use the term body dolly synonymous with rotisserie, its structural tubes fabricated to carry a loaded car and easy to disassemble or remove any and all components without interference of the cart .
I use it all the way until final assembly and wheels mounted ready to fire and hit the road .
Will be measuring and building over the next couple weeks and will share my approach |

Very creative….
Great quick solution and it works
Mine is in fabrication now ,decided to use the body pickup points as I need to remove all suspension including rear items for new bushings etc. |

Built a trolley for my project car. Picked up on the circular lifting points under the floor. Works perfectly in the workshop but the car has to be tied down to the trolley when transporting it.
Not being very computer tech I am not sure how to attach a photo here but will send if an e-mail address given.
