I am working on my fuel system on my 1981 924 2.0NA. It has a pretty much straight thru muffler which is loud. My question is to those that drive their 924 hard. I notice that when I push it and let off the accelerator to shift or slow down, the exhaust really cackles. Is this a sign of running too rich or too lean? It has the Lamda system and I have been repairing.
Thanks

It could be air leaks in the exhaust system or a too rich mixture.

Almost certainly exhaust leaks. I have a similar exhaust but it doesn't leak, and it doesn't crackle. My old stock exhaust did both.

probably just a tad rich and your decel valve is not doing its job. personally i dont run a decel valve and i like my cars quiet. these cars are not any faster with a loud exhaust and are embarrassingly slow anyways. i dont like it to be known that im flooring it and redlining it to keep up with the 1993 civic thats not racing me.
