After much complaining, some of it public here, I finished the job. It is only a hassle because of the challenging angles and tight spaces surrounding the arms that mount to the block. On the intake side, I ended up pulling all the mounting arm bolts but not the whole mounting arm: by jacking up the engine (more than made me comfortable) I could jiggle out the old mount and get the new one in. Getting it done means being aggressive about partially undressing the engine and then using every extension, swivel, and wrench in the garage to get to most of the nuts and bolts.

It was definitely worth it though.
