Yeah its a good idea. Im thinking of changing to a better oil separator than the stock one to keep the oil amounts out of the intercooler, or a second one as you thinking about. Oil mist in the air lowers octane aswell _________________ 1980 924 Turbo |

From what I checked in my car the original one does not really do a good job.
It almost does not retain oil at all. Just split it
If I think better I put a performance instead of the original. (it is redundant to keep both)
No oil in intercooler and air filter _________________ 1980 Porsche 924 Turbo (931) diamond silver metallic/helios blue metallic

Yeah, its mostly a empty can, and only take biggest particles /sone fluid oil. Many bling aftermarket products are not better though.
I might try a man hummel provent 200 that i might get my hands on, which should be waaay better than the std one. Its a bit clumsy though, a 150 would be better.
I work at a world leading company on this subject with active separators (oil driven mostly) for heavy duty vehicles as a responsible for separation performance development. So i have some knowledge on the subject _________________ 1980 924 Turbo |

My aftermarket can which vents to atmosphere has mostly worked well. It used to have a cheap K&N style paper/gauze filter on top and it spat oil and mist over the left side engine bay. The current ITG foam filter has never done this, no oil splatter. Occasionally a light oil mist on top of the can needs wiping down after some big boosting/spanking. But is all good now. Limited clean ups. _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

I have never used aftermarket Oil Catch Can.
The expensive ones contain a filter in them (bronze filter).

The 22 mm Inlets Size is not easy to find. I didn't measure the output exactly, but it looks pretty big too.
Which model best fits Porsche 931? _________________ 1980 Porsche 924 Turbo (931) diamond silver metallic/helios blue metallic

The steering column rattles pretty badly. I replaced the wheel bearing. Almost no improvement
The bushing on the steering column is no longer available. Maybe I can put a teflon or polyurethane bushing.

I want to change the air vent system S1 with S2 (and by-pass air filter box)
I repaired the rod that had a broken screw in it since I had the car.
