The dual dellorto was fired up today. She didnt want to stay on but after a little advancing and a little tweeking it held its idle!!
First impression, the sound that the car now emmits through the exaust is a guttural sound. It sounds mean with a slight gargle after fast revving. It scared the living crap out of me everytime I opened the throttle. The sound that comes from the dual carbs is nothing less than aureal bliss. A loud jet like swooosshhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Im so exited. The carb even thought is not adjusted properly yet and is out of sync badly still revs fairly quickly unlike the FI before.(not a fair comparison by any means).
Does anyone have a carb sync tool? My carbs are way off on syncronization.
I love the sound damn it. It sound like no 4 cylinder...its sweetttttt..
Calming down...calming...calming....calm..
Im taking the pics tommorow and putting them up on the site
Take care guys. _________________ 1982 Porsche 924 in mild restoration process.

Record it!
Take a microphone or a video camera, record the sound, plug it into the soundcard, save it on your computer, upload to the net and link it in for us to hear.
Easy
Thank you,

Sweet!!! Good job! Mark one down for persistence!
I don't think the microphone on a videocamera will be able to do a half-decent job of rendering the exhaust note - too loud and wrong frequencies. Use a proper microphone, you might have better luck. And if you don't believe me, watch some of my race video and listen to the audio.

| I nearly blew out my eardrums watching those race videos. Remember to turn down your volume before you watch them. The audio is REALLY loud! |

Yes, we recommend wearing earplugs when driving the racecar... _________________ Vaughan Scott

| Try a local British car club, they're always knowledgeable when it comes to multi carb setups... I'm sure you could find someone there who has a synchronizer... |

| Great going afb. I have a manual for tuning webers/dellortos here at home. If you need any info on fine tuning, let me know and I can e-mail you a scanned copy. |

AFB,
Are you going to take a picture to replace your wallpaper? It has to be better than the one I sent.

Thanks for all the comment guys. I have watched all of Vauhans race videos and if his car sound anything like mine he is right they do not do it justice at all. A camera or cheap mic wont be enough, there is also a vibratory pressence the car has that you cant convey in the recording, I will try my best though.
The engine rocks badly untill very warm then she smooths out.She is definatly waaaaay of sync (or I have a vacuum leak . Well at least it better be!
Thats a good idea, im going to go to old town this saturday if I get a chance. Maybe ill find some crazy dude overthere with better experience than me on these cool little carbs. Little fireballs coming out of the intake is only cool for a while!!
Im definetly going to replace the wallpaper. Im actually going to make a colage the one you sent me and next to it mine. Just so I can feel all proud and mushy!
Well gotta go for now, going to start her up one more time before going to bed _________________ 1982 Porsche 924 in mild restoration process.

nor pictures give it back what she's like in real. But it's still better than nothing, or plain text like "vrooooaamm".

yah I am lazy, and I am proud of it, but I do have the sound of mine recorded, on my website, www.geocities.com/cjensan420247 really doesn't do it justice as it doesn't catch any of the bass _________________ 3 928s, |
