On November 1 2020 I had a skid-truck pull her out of the weeds where she had been since 1992.
I could not see the cars condition because it was under a tarp but I saw the wheels and the bolt pattern and thought...?
I have the wheels off and at the shop to see if they can be refurbished. They would be an improvement over my set as mine are badly dinged-up...thank the first owner!
Yes. Those are bones and nests.Ugh!
I am thinking about lenses, lights, even the lift pump ... but what re some of the most sought parts that might be useful to others?
I have many questions as I have NO experience with the Turbo but my intentions now are to salvage as much for my 1980 924.

A quick squirt of Eazi-start and it will fire right up. It ran fine when it was parked up...... _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

So many 924 turbos end up in the weeds. Hopefully it will provide your project with needed parts and perhaps other parts can help keep the rest of us on the road.
There a many parts on your turbo that are worth something...I've seen turbo hoods going for $500. The headlight motor is specific to the 924 turbo; hook up 12v and see if it runs. Search on Ebay for porsche 924 and 924 turbo...you'll see many bits for sale. The intake charge tube, turbo, exhaust manifold, J pipe, wastegate, etc can all be sold...but of course it takes time to pull everything apart, list it and ship it. The coolant reservoir is also specific to the turbo. And the nose panel with the vents is worth something...removing it takes some effort.
If you separate the turbo from the exhaust manifold...I'm looking for that hardware. On the later models there are three screws with collars that hold things together, I need two. New from Porsche they are like $85 a set.
With no rear window I'm guessing that that the interior is rough? Yet the gauges could be fine and again worth something.
The turbo reflector between the tail lights should go quick on Ebay, I sold one for like $75 a while back. _________________ 1981 Porsche 931 |
