I could have sworn there was a link on here in the recent past to a Swedish/Scandinavian site selling solid lifters which fit the 924/931. I have searched a number of times but can not seem to find the link.
Let me know if you can help of if you have a set for sale.
Thanks! |

I think that was Gegge, hidden in a rebuild threat a while back. RD Valve Spring in CA makes both 38 and 38.5 buckets, I'm under the impression that ours are 38.5, could be wrong. I called about valve shims and then asked about the buckets and he didn't have any 38.5's in stock. They make the Lindsey Racing high performance valve springs for the 944 line. _________________ Mike

Catcam in Netherlands, Piper camshaft and Newman Cams in UK can make them also. I just bought a Catcam cam, price was good, delivery was about 4 weeks. l _________________ Mike

Dirty cheap USD10 a piece:

Sten Parner retired and sold his company to ACM. These are the exact same as IDEOLA sold a couple years ago. _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

Oh, so that's where his stuff went. Not exactly great advertising to not even write what car they are made for. What lash caps did you end up using? _________________ 1980 924 Turbo |

Whats the point of these lifters exactly unless you are trying to build a high rpm engine exceeding the capabilities of the rods even?
They are already solid lifters, and the grub screws are pretty darn convenient.. _________________ 80 Turbo - Slightly Modified |

Well, except for high revving the spm ones at ACM is about a 1/10 of the price of a new stock lifter but sure the adjusting screw is nice but heavy _________________ 1980 924 Turbo |

IIRC Alfa Romeo was the only brand that used lash caps for 9mm stems. In my 931 head there are Ferrara 7mm valves, no problem finding lash caps. _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

Has anyone a feedback on the durability of these products?
From my datas, steel has a higher Young modulus than grey cast Iron that means a higher contact pressure. In renault engines there're several failures of this type, because of this kind of material replacement. |

I have the Parner ones in my race car that I bought used from Britain Smith. He really pushed them hard and I haven't been very easy on them and they are doing well. My current camshaft was nitride hardened so probably harder than the buckets. Bucket lifters are very common these days on OHC motors and motorcycles. Ours are unusual due to the size, most of the available ones are smaller in the 26-36mm range. I'd tend to look for an oiling issue first. The surface stresses of the bucket to cam interface opens up the huge subject of zinc in the oil content. _________________ Mike

Adjusters are a garbage setup unless you have brand new lifters and brand new adjusters (which no longer exist). Otherwise the screws and the threaded holes are too hammered and misshapen to get a reliable lash setting.
My opinion only...YMMV. _________________ Toofah King Bad

I have the solids in my DD without any issues. Thay are doing just fine with a 14mm lift race cam. _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen
