The Trust controller looks pretty cool. I figured that it wouldn't be available for long. I might have to mount it like this:

Since im an engineer i wanted to buy something that is acutally engineered and have a specification sheet So i bought a precision pneumatic 3 bar pressure regulator. It works flawless and gives rock solid boost. Didnt cost more than the blue blingy things. I have a small version aswell, but this looks cooler and more old school, so its the one I have in the car. At the moment its in the battery tray, but Im thinking about mounting it in the glovebox instead
One day i will swap out the knob to something similar to the old school ones being discussed here.

Sorry, not the for the fittings but for the knob?
Edit: and yes, G1/2 is huge. Over here in the US we get a lot of people trying to cross thread 1/8NPT into G1/4 (BSPP) _________________ 1980 931 since 1989

By any chance do you have any pics of how you have that mounted and how you ran the lines? _________________ 1981 Porsche 931 w/S1 engine & g31 transmission. Water-cooled intercooler |

Haha, i won't show that mess its routed through a heat protective sleeve and then through the drain hole into the tray, and it's just sitting there, not fastened at all, since everything is temporary _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

Trying to figure out if the boost controller would fit in there next to my battery. It would be tight. _________________ 1981 Porsche 931 w/S1 engine & g31 transmission. Water-cooled intercooler |

You know my memory is being tweaked... I seem to remember back in the 90's, somebody running a manual boost controller somewhere around the ignition coil. I wish I could remember if it was a single setup or aftermarket _________________ 1980 931 since 1989

I was standing in front of that car 2yrs or so ago when it was in the Porsche Experience Centre UK prior to auction. Spent a good hour sucking it up. Would have spent longer if I didn't have to get on the test track that day. Shame we weren't allowed to sit in it or start it _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

It does take some fiddling to get the boost level right. I found that even a 1/4 turn can make a huge difference.
I've found that the boost level is mostly consistent...but after a long run the boost level creeps up. I'm wondering if it has to do with heat....and if that is the case...would need to find a cooler spot under hood.

I installed a turbonetics MBC over the weekend similarly to what you show in your picture but it doesn't seem to work. No matter the adjustment, 7 psi is the max boost I see on the in cabin gauge.
The strange thing is that previously it was set to 10 psi with a small spring loaded valve that worked fine. Since I couldn't get the turbonetics MBC to work, I reinstalled the previous setup, but now adjustments don't work on that one neither.
Any thoughts?

If the WG is opening at 7psi that tells me that the line is not being restricted and that you don't have leaks in the control line...enough air is pushing the spring up to open the WG.
When I first connected the turbonetics MBC it didn't seem to work. I cranked it all the way UP (+) according to the +/- on the dial....and still had stock boost. It took me a while to figure out that turning the knob down actually increases the boost...turning it down restricts the flow. I turned the knob all the way down (-) and the boost went to the moon...I let off the gas as I saw the boost gauge heading to 12psi in a hurry. From there I was able to adjust it to 9/10psi. As I mentioned above...a 1/4 turn makes a big difference....so it might take several runs to dial it in.
Can you remove the MBC and test it to make sure that air is being restricted? If you turn it all the way down...no air should pass through it. Of course make sure the air is flowing the right direction. If you connect it backwards it might not work correctly.

That doesn't make sense. Not sure what is going on there. _________________ 1981 Porsche 931 w/S1 engine & g31 transmission. Water-cooled intercooler |
