Hello everyone,
First of all, I'm french and I haven't found any presentation section, please don't boo me
I'm here to aware you that in association with one of the recognized specialists in France, we've started the study of main bearings reproduction in 64mm. The most important criterion is to make them according to the original specifications, that is not the case for the precedent productions. The price should be interessant too, but it's too early to give some figures today.
Here you can consult the website of my partner, specialised in the Renault sport parts design and manufacturing since 15 years : https://www.mespiecesauto.com/en/coussinet-bielle-trimetal-avantage/
The project should last few months.
I stay aware if you get any questions.

Some few news to inform you that the project is still continuing,
We now get enough concrete informations to aware you that we will be able to propose the pre order batch for LESS THAN 100£ including shipping costs to all Europe.
We carry on our technical study that is conducted exactly as we expected
More news will come later |

Hi
Interesting work, what are the issues you have seen with the current available bearings? _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

They have a different back material.
They also have a different base material that doesn't correspond to the original specifications regarding to the seizure, wear or load requirements. The objective is to fully respect the original materials according to the SAE norm. More info to come on this subject.
On the set we've procured, we were surprised to discover such critical manufacturing defaults.

The production is going to be ordered.
The first sets will be sold at an advantageous price : near 80£ including taxes and shipping to UK.
Several of them has already been reserved by the Europeans clubs.
They should be available at the start of the year school.

Do you think the company is interested in making forged conrods? (They are available on AliExpress already, IIRC two versions.) _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

I can make real forged conrod in 4340 steel, shoot peened and polished for less than 400€/set (without bolts, shipping to UK included). However I need several people interested. I can open a post if you want.
Don't imagine that AliExpress parts are strong it's impossible to make forging parts on demand at 30$/unit as the developement of special tool manufacturing costs few thousands of $.
Whereas the big manufacturers of racing parts are overmarketing the strenght of their parts, neither I would bet on the chinese ones.

I would be interested in a set of forged rods, if they are made to take some of the shelf ARPs.
The Aliexpress rods are to expensive now to gamble on... |

I have no need for the moment, since I have built three engines already. Maybe a set in a few months, just in case. _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

Same for me, but to have a set on the shelf could be nice since they aren't readily available. if you gonna need a set. |

PM sent. Interested in 2 sets. Only issue is that I'm not sure what cost/issues are involved when shipping to the U.S. Cheers, Brian _________________ '81/'81/'82 |
