My indicators don't work, nothing happens when flicking the switch. If i turn them on with everything off, the parking lights come on on the corresponding side, as they should. I've cleaned up the stalk assembly itself, the fuse holders (replacing all fuses for good measure) and the grounding points under the dash.
My hazards do work, however they seem to have developed an intermittent arrythmia:

Could this be indicative of the flasher relay starting to go bad?
The thing is, after cleaning the stalk switch and the fuse box, the indicators worked fine. The problem appeared after cleaning the grounding points and fixing a broken connector on one of the cables. _________________ Felix

That's odd, my car has the opposite issue: Indicators work, and the hazards don't. They haven't worked in at least a year. _________________ '80 931 M471 - Dolomite Gray -> Monaco Blue |

Ah, the joy of old cars. Have you checked the hazard switch? _________________ Felix

I replaced it, and the fuse. I might've changed the relay or flasher (whichever its called), can't remember... There was no change regardless. _________________ '80 931 M471 - Dolomite Gray -> Monaco Blue |

In my case, it was the stalk itself. Despite my attempts to clean it, it still ha a bad connection. I've dismantled it and will try fixing it before ordering a new one. _________________ Felix

I forgot about that! I changed that too with no change other than a clean and shiny stalk. I'll have to replace that flasher/relay and report back on that sometime. _________________ '80 931 M471 - Dolomite Gray -> Monaco Blue |

Since the hazards and indicators use the same flasher, I don't think a bad relay should cause one to stop working and not the other. I'd inspect the hazard switch socket for damage, which could explain your issue. The hazard switch is the big thing marked with E3.
