So glad I have an S2. And also that I retrofitted a 160mph - yes, mph not KPH - speedo, also in white.

Of course, everything's white now, under 10"+ of white stuff! And to think I drove my S2 just the day before...

The 85 mph speedo is definitely annoying. Something to add to the list of things to do after I sort out my boost control, fuel delivery, ignition situation, disintegrating driver's seat etc etc etc...

A 160mph speedo is only any use if you need/use it..........

Gotta have goals...

Ironically, the one car I own that can approach those speeds has no speedo.

I may not need the whole dial, but I definitely need more than the 85 I currently have. It's funny...the other day on the highway it was pegged at 85 but I was about average for the traffic, and some people were passing me. Really makes me wonder how fast I drive that road in the 928 (broken speedo) since very few people pass me in that

I don't go above 85 much honestly..
Not much happens going that fast but more trouble..
The twisties I like to drive, where I drive the hardest, I can maybe get up to 70 in some areas but then you need a lot of brakes to scrub that 70 back down to 40 to make the next corner..
I don't do much high speed stuff.. I pay in 3rd-4th gear mostly..

But, I do dream of seeing that speedo hit 160 some day..
By my calculations it should clear 160 before 6,900 RPM in 5th gear, and I think it will take HP in the higher 200's.. Both of which I believe are practically possible..

7300RPM to cross over 170.. The gauge does technically have a 170 line but I think that RPM would require lighter rods or whatever internals, so 160 seems much more attainable..
It might do it without blowing up but I'd be terrified to throw a rod at that speed..

Any of you ever top your cars out? Or atleast break the published stock top speed of 143? I haven't.. 140 should be 6k RPM in my car..
Anyone ever done even 150?
I don't think the Euro cars have as high of a 5th gear as US cars so I'm not sure what their speed/RPM is like..

Maybe some day I'll find a way to try it but only if I get new tires rated for that speed.. The thing might do 160 the way it sits, but I ain't tryin it..
I'm not much of a speed freak.. Anything over like 110 is scary, lol..

Yeah it sure is.. I have some pretty serious snow up here.. It hasn't melted, or stopped snowing much, since before Halloween..
We have been thoroughly blanketed in snow for over 2 weeks now already and it is just getting thicker.. Probably a legit 18" of snow in the middle of the yard..

Have done lots of doughnuts with the Subaru in the driveway but haven't put the legals back on it yet.. Something between the key and the starter solenoid isn't happening so I'm working on that, but starts and runs great if I jumpthe solenoid on the starter, it's nice that the Subaru has the starter right up top, easiest starter access ever..

"And the winner of the most snowfall in the northwest Lower Michigan snowbelt is Mancelona with 171 inches this past winter.
In the eastern Upper Peninsula, Paradise was a snow-lover’s paradise with 175 inches of snow this winter. That’s 14.5 feet of snow."

FML, I live in Mancelona
14 feet of snowfall last year? I need to get out of this place

It is surprising..
Here, the northern halves of 131 and I75, where they raised the speed limit to 75, the faster traffic is cruising at 85-90 MPH too these days!!
It's pretty crazy to be cruising at 90 and NOT passing everyone..
I like it but it's like damn, I like to pass everyone on the highway usually but now I'm not as much..

I can believe that... I always feel like the sketchiest part of the winter commute (to the Soo) is the Grayling/Gaylord area... always breathe a bit easier once I've cleared that!
