Hi guys,
I have a series 2 931, and I was wondering if anyone could help me out identifying this relay that lives behind the radio area 141951253B

Looking it up, it comes up as a multi purpose relay, and I think it could be for something like the radiator fans, but I was wondering if any of you could identify it for sure.

Here are some photos: https://imgur.com/a/Cx2zHLQ

This relay crackles whenever I turn the key, and is always receiving 12V, as long as the battery is connected.

The previous owner did mention something about adding radiator fans, and doing some wiring, so this does make me suspicious.

The photos are of the original relay, but I have since replaced it. The new one still crackles and gets hot exactly the same as the old one.

I am unsure where all the wires go, and if this is supposed to be happening.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks

That's actually factory as evidenced by the wiring harness. I know I have them too.

Possibilities are power window, radio power relay, or AC. Wiring colors don't match the AC wires, I think... having trouble finding wire colors for the power windows and radio power...

Might try removing the relay and see what stops working?

Thanks for narrowing it down for me,

Now that you mention it the radio has been acting up a bit, and the power windows still work without the relay in.

I have one of the less common radio cassette players with the digital display, but I have found that it simply doesnt turn on sometimes, and glitches out other times.

Still trying to figure out why the relay is crackling when I turn the key, but I assume it is supposed to be getting 12V with the key off.

I guess I should start by finding out where each wire goes.

Pelican has wiring diagrams for your car. Per that, the relay you are looking at appears to be the seat belt warning buzzer relay.

Crackling and getting hot sounds like a bad ground...
